Mercury Is Out of Retrograde: The Season of Expression
Share
Mercury turned direct on August 11, and the air feels different now.
The static that tangled our words, the delays that knotted our plans—those threads are loosening. Yet we’re still walking through the echo of retrograde until August 25, the lingering retroshade where old lessons still whisper. It’s not a sprint forward, but a gradual unfurling.

The tone of this season is one of thresholds.
A door creaks open between reflection and expression. We’ve been turned inward, held in the hallways of memory. Now, light spills in and calls us to speak, to move, to create.
September holds the eclipses. This is not chaos, but choreography. The cosmos weaving release and renewal, shadow and dawn.
🌕 September 7: A Total Lunar Eclipse in Pisces, a blood-moon mirror pulling our shadows into view. What has been buried stirs; what has been silenced aches for voice.
☀️ September 21: A Partial Solar Eclipse in Virgo, braided with a New Moon, opening a path to begin again. A seed of new creation, placed carefully in the soil.
Virgo season holds the loom steady. From August 22 to September 22, the energy turns to ritual, to daily devotion, to art made sacred by its rhythm. Virgo does not just dream—Virgo shapes, refines, gives form to what the soul imagines.
For artists and creatives, this is the invitation:
- Let ritual be your compass. Light a candle, pour your tea, open the notebook. Physically and/or spiritually, close the door and open a window. Don’t forget to take a deep breath because the act of beginning is its own prayer.
-
Let the eclipses speak through you. Write what hurts, paint what you lost, pour your pain into the shape, and sing what you are becoming. Good things are woven into the stars and they’re ready with a message, and so be confident you have been gifted the ability to hear them.
- Let Virgo’s hands guide your work. Honor the detail, the edit, the polish. Expression now is not just raw, but radiant in its craft. Call in the peace and quiet, and move into creativity fearlessly because your art is worthy to be made.
- We are in a season of artistry that heals. The fog has lifted. The stage lights flicker on. The pen, the brush, the voice, and the body are ready.
Now is the time to step through the threshold.
